The last lecture
One of the categories I wanted to add to this blog is the summary or more like my opinion, thoughts and inspiration from various books I will be reading to motivate me to read books J. During my to Dubai, and by mere coincidence, I bought a book entitled “The Last lecture” by Randy Pausch, a computer science professor with terminal cancer.
This is a book that he wrote to make his mark and to leave something behind for his children. I am sure most people thought about such an idea. I thought of writing a manual for life that would benefit my children so they would gain my conclusions and add to them as a link in a growing chain that might solve many issues or answer questions a growing child might have been thinking.
An attempt to pass down knowledge and ideas, I thought, would be to make a list of books that are of interest and make my comments that can even drift a bit but still inline with wanting to pass a certain piece of information to my children. Even in the form of recalling certain events from memory.
So, using this book as a starter I will blog about the different chapters, favorite lines, or thoughts that were triggered. Although I am not an avid book reader as I mentioned in an earlier post entitled what I read, I love reading news and randomly looking up different words on Wikipedia. But sticking to one book and reading it cover to cover would require more effort on my part This book has 60 small chapters. I think I can reading in few hours straight but will limit comments between 3 to 6 chapters at a time.
