Beyond your nose
They say that some people can’t see beyond their nose but in most cases people can’t see behind the tip of their nose where everything else is in view. The first statement is true for some when it comes to possessions and self focus yet the other statement seems to match how people can’t see themselves when passing judgment.
Many people ridicule a trait that they posses as if they were immune from inclusion by being out of their own sight. Some people focus on others taking action when in fact they themselves are idle. They talk about ideals that must be achieved by hard work and how you should not neglect certain aspects when in fact they have not set foot in your field or taken half of the steps you have taken. They speak about people judging and in turn judge their judgments.
Yet when you try to hold a mirror in front of them they will act differently and compose their actions as such that during that short while they can be holding their act together. But do you need to keep holding mirrors to remind people about observing their actions before speaking. Perhaps more importantly is reminding yourself of your own flaws before focusing on someone else’s. Those small reflection in people’s eyes should remind you to look the other way as well. Even if no one is willing to listen and improve themselves, your duty is to look the other direction first and make sure you commit to better yourself.
Beyond your nose is someone else’s dream
For people hold more than what they seem
You can never judge their smiles and cries,
and reasons for their well fabricated lies
But your focus should be at the other end
To make sure you are pure and not pretend
That flaws have skipped you and instead
Have invaded and occupied another head
For you are not immune to flaws, you know
Just try harder and give it another go
To improve our spirit, body, and mind
Should be the real aim of all mankind
